Alternate US 219 Study
Status: 4-lane limited access facility, which is not on the Appalachian Development Highway System and therefore not eligible for APD funds, was deferred in 2004 due to estimated cost of $500 million. A new alternate route for US 219 was then studied to help meet the needs of the area. The focus of this study was to identify lower cost, on-line improvements that could be made to act as a second north-south corridor in the northern Cambria County region. The study has been completed and the improvement recommendations will be presented publically this fall.
